Located along a beach in Ibusuki（指宿）city where natural hot steam rises from beneath the sand, the Sand Bath（砂むし温泉）is an extremely rare experience in the world. Akin to steam sauna, visitors put on a bathrobe and lie down in sand pits on the beach, to be buried up to the neck with sand by the staff.
