The sandy reef of Nagamenohama Beach （長目の浜） covers approximately 4 kilometers and is separated into four both large and small ponds, and the sea. The ponds have rare and mysterious features, such as each of the four ponds differing in their levels of salt concentration and being home to living microorganisms which first appeared 3 billion years ago.
