Sengan-en Garden (Mt. Sakurajima)

This garden was built as a villa for the Shimadzu Clan（島津氏）, the Satsuma lord（薩摩藩主）who ruled this domain during the Edo period. The garden, with its beautiful, natural scenery overlooking Kinko Bay（錦江湾）and the picturesque Mt. Sakurajima（桜島）beyond, is known as one of the most beautiful gardens in all of Japan.
